Business Analyst

Closely involved in the day-to-day delivery of client projects, Business Analysts provide invaluable support to the project team. As an integral part of a project team, they are fully involved in client interactions whether a consulting or managed services project.

Business Analysts are required to demonstrate strong analytical skills, are able to isolate key issues and draw sound conclusions from large volumes of data. Equally important is the ability to prioritise their own work producing required deliverables effectively, accurately and on time. Team work skills are essential, with the ability to support and take direction.

Consultant

Portland Group’s project teams develop strategies to solve challenging business problems and our consultants are primarily responsible for the delivery of client project work. They lead work-streams within project teams that focus on procurement transformations, sourcing categories and supplier relationship management initiatives.

Our Consultants are required to demonstrate business acumen through operational excellence, business development skills by supporting leaders in developing accounts, and leadership skills through the coaching of junior colleagues to develop both their technical and professional skills.

Category Manager/ Senior Category Manager

Our Category Management team are a key part of our Managed Services offering. They have deep subject matter knowledge and operational expertise gained from industry experience. They are responsible for developing a category service offering within their portfolio area and delivering to agreed plans with defined objectives, milestones and deliverables.

They ensure alignment of supplier terms and pricing to current best practice and market conditions, building and maintaining relationships that produce long-term, sustainable benefits.

Senior Consultant

Our Senior Consultants drive the development of sourcing and supply chain strategies working closely with clients to identify, agree and implement strategies that deliver bottom line improvements. They are also responsible for leading & mentoring the project teams that deliver these results.

They support senior management with sales efforts and are involved in developing IP for future use from both project work and new product development. Senior Consultants have leadership, situational and organisational awareness that underpin the success of both a project and project team.

Practice Leader

Our Practice Leaders are in charge of a portfolio of categories, managing their practice area to achieve growth in line with Portland Group strategy and targets. They are responsible for developing a service offering and value proposition for their categories, then co-ordinating with other Managed Services and Consulting functions to introduce these to clients.

They ensure that categories in their portfolios are managed to agreed plans, leading & mentoring teams to deliver those. In addition, they contribute to and maintain Portland Group IP through innovation solution design and delivery.

Engagement Manager

Engagement Managers are a key point of liaison between our clients & our project teams, responsible for the delivery of an overall project. They are a key element in business development - identifying opportunities with existing clients, meeting prospective clients and working collaboratively to put proposals forward that deliver tangible results.

Engagement Managers take a leadership role of both projects and people, providing direction, counsel and support both externally and internally. They also plan and direct a client’s executive agenda, then lead and manage both change and key stakeholder issues to reach a successful outcome.
